Forecasters look for rain, cold front this week in N. Ga.

By Staff
ATLANTA - The National Weather Service has posted what it calls a hazardous weather outlook for most of north and central Georgia for this week as forecasters look for rain to fall for the first time in a long time in the region.

Forecasters said anywhere from one-tenth of an inch to one inch of rain could fall on the region Monday and Monday night. While that amount may not sound like much, it's enough to make weather-watchers hopeful as portions of the state inch back towards drought situations.

Some of the counties covered in the outlook are Banks, Barrow, Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson and Lumpkin.

For the rest of the week forecasters predict a cold front to move across the state and bring more rain by the weekend.
