Two families displaced by Gainesville apartment fire

GAINESVILLE - No one was hurt, but two families have been displaced by a fire at Glenn Cove Apartments just off Cleveland Highway in Gainesville.<br /> <br /> Gainesville Fire Division Chief Keith Smith said the fire broke out around 4:30 Saturday morning. He said it took about 20 minutes for crews to bring the fire under control, since the flames had spread into the wall and ceiling of the building.<br /> <br /> The Gainesville Fire Marshal said a faulty bathroom ventilation fan in a ground floor apartment is to blame.<br /> <br /> Smith estimated damage to the building at around $75,000.<br />
