Funeral services for Charles Smith are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, about two weeks after his death, according to WSAV-TV. <br />

Family attorney Charles Mance told WJCL-TV that there's nothing wrong with free expression but the family doesn't want things to escalate. Savannah Metro Police Chief Julie Tolbert says authorities are expecting large crowds in west Savannah after the funeral. <br />

Police have said Officer David Jannot shot Smith after the handcuffed man attempted to kick out the window of a patrol car. Authorities have said officers reported Smith had a gun. <br />

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the case. Jannot was placed on paid leave.
