Michigan, Rhode Island runners win Peachtree race

ATLANTA (AP) Christo Landry and Amy Hastings have won the men's and women's elite categories at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. <br /> <br /> A 28-year-old from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Landry finished the 6.2-mile course with an unofficial time of 28:25. <br /> <br /> Hastings is a 30-year-old from East Providence, Rhode Island. She finished with an unofficial time of 32:16. <br /> <br /> This year was only the second time in event's 45-year history that it served as the 10-kilometer USA championship for men and women. Landry and Hastings will each receive a $15,000 cash prize. <br /> <br /> The AJC Peachtree Road Race has grown into the world's largest 10K and the largest U.S. road race of any measure. About 60,000 people participated this year, organizers said.
