Toddler in Ellijay hit-and-run dies

ELLIJAY - A toddler struck by a vehicle at a Gilmer County park on Friday night has died from his injuries.<br /> <br /> The Gilmer County Sheriff's Department said Noah Pinson died at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta. The child was struck by a vehicle Friday night around 9:30 in the parking lot of Gilmer County River Park.<br /> <br /> Charges have now been upgraded against the man whose vehicle allegedly hit the child. Jordan Allen Hyde, 26, of Talking Rock is now charged with First Degree Homicide by Vehicle and DUI of drugs, according to investigators.<br /> <br /> Hyde was initially arrested Saturday morning after the toddler's father gave authorities a description of the vehicle that struck his child. Hyde had been released on bond, but the new charges carry no bond, according to authorities.<br /> <br /> Investigators also have charged Hyde with two counts of Financial Transaction card Fraud.
