Gainesville, Lula veterans honor war dead

UNDATED - Area veterans paid tribute to their fallen comrades in Memorial Day ceremonies in Gainesville and Lula during the holiday weekend.

The Gainesville-Hall County Vietnam and Korean War Veterans' groups held an annual observance Sunday at 2 p.m. at Veterans Park at Rock Creek, laying wreaths at their respective war monuments and reading aloud the names of the men from Hall County who died in the two conflicts.

Approximately 200 people attended a Monday morning event in downtown Lula at the town's Veterans Park. The annual event was held at 10 a.m.
