Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club recognized at district convention

By Staff
DAHLONEGA - Members of the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club attended Rotary District 6910's Annual Convention in Jekyll Island recently.

The club was awarded nine separate achievements, including the Silver Award and the Rotary International Presidential Citation.

The club was recognized because of membership growth, humanitarian service, and networking. Specifically, the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary grew its membership by ten percent, received a matching grant in the amount of $4,355 used to purchase equipment for Dahlonega's free dental clinic, had 100% of membership contribute an average of $100 to the Rotary Foundation, continued education through Rotary training, and supported the Dahlonega Literacy program.

Individual club members recognized were William O'Leksy and Ralph Prescott for their contributions as Paul Harris Fellows.
