Soccer: Lady Wolves rout LFO in opening round of playoffs

BUFORD -- The Buford girls soccer team crushed Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 10-0 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs on Friday in Buford.

The Region 7-AAA champion Lady Wolves (15-3) were led by three goals from Caitlyn Dawkins and two goals apiece from Ceely Coker and Jesse Vaverka. Brei Smith also scored one goal and provided four assists, while Elexa Bahr scored once and Maria Maggio scored once and provided one assist.

Tara Damback, Ambria Shutts and Izzy Ortiz also had one assist apiece.

Lane Crawford earned the shutout in the goal.

Buford faces a second round showdown with Blessed Trinity on Wednesday at Buford, kickoff time to be announced.
