DAWSONVILLE -- Logan Burt belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to give Dawson County a thrilling 14-12 win over West Hall in a key Region 7-AAA game Friday night.
While Burt got the game-winner, Colton Chester continued his torrid pace at the plate of late. Chester went 4-for-4 with four home runs and 11 RBI to pace the Dawson County offense. He has six home runs in his last two games. He also got the win despite allowing two runs in the seventh.
The Tigers (12-8, 7-8 Region 7-AAA) have played themselves back into playoff contention winning six of their last 10, including a win over No. 1 Buford on Wednesday. They came into the night trailing White County by two games.
West Hall (14-6, 10-5) saw its four-game win streak come to an end. The Spartans rallied to tie the game with two runs in the top of the seventh but could not complete the comeback.
