BETHLEHEM -- Michael Gettys and Caleb Whitenton weren't about to let this one get away.
The Gainesville sluggers combined for nine RBI to help the Red Elephants bounce back from a 3-0 first-inning deficit en route to a 10-5 win in Bethlehem.
Gettys and Whitenton each provided two hits, with Gettys driving in five runs and Whitenton four. Their work at the plate undid a Wildcats team that led 3-0 and 5-3 after three innings.
Michael Curry and Sam Carpenter helped lead Gainesville (7-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAA) to the win on the mound, with Curry pitching four innings and Carpenter three. Carpenter also struck out four batters.
Gainesville will travel to face Flowery Branch on Friday.
