Soccer: Chestatee girls win at Eastside

The Chestatee girls soccer team beat Eastside 1-0 on Friday in Covington.

The Lady War Eagles (7-2, 4-0 Region 8-AAAA) dominated early, securing a goal from Ashley Grant in the 27th minute.

However, the Region 8-AAAA game settled into a struggle. Misandy Chavez secured the shutout for Chestatee with two saves. Grant, Jessi Stephens, Mary Ashley Easterwood, Jordan Grissom and Jacelin Sanchez were solid on the defensive end.

The Lady War Eagles play host to Lumpkin County on Tuesday.
