GAINESVILLE - The Northeast Georgia Medical Center's 6th Annual Northeast Georgia Regional STEMI Summit set a record for attendance.<br />
Hospital officials say nearly 600 healthcare professionals -- including paramedics and EMTs, physicians, surgeons, nurses, students and others -- from more than 19 counties across the state attended the one-day meeting on Friday.<br />
They heard from nationally-recognized experts in cardiac resuscitation and acute stroke management who provided up-to-date information about the treatment of stroke, severe heart attacks and cardiac arrest.<br />
​The meeting also provided a chance for participants to discuss the state of the Northeast Georgia Regional STEMI System
Junior pitcher Courtney Poole struck out four while giving up just two hits to lead the University of North Georgia softball team to a 5-0 win against Dixie State and the program's first national title.
