Record turnout for medical center's STEMI Summit

GAINESVILLE - The Northeast Georgia Medical Center's 6th Annual Northeast Georgia Regional STEMI Summit set a record for attendance.<br /> <br /> Hospital officials say nearly 600 healthcare professionals -- including paramedics and EMTs, physicians, surgeons, nurses, students and others -- from more than 19 counties across the state attended the one-day meeting on Friday.<br /> <br /> They heard from nationally-recognized experts in cardiac resuscitation and acute stroke management who provided up-to-date information about the treatment of stroke, severe heart attacks and cardiac arrest.<br /> <br /> &#8203;The meeting also provided a chance for participants to discuss the state of the Northeast Georgia Regional STEMI System
