Vietnam veterans to be honored at Georgia Capitol

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - State officials are preparing to honor a group of veterans at the state Capitol building.

The Georgia Department of Veterans Services says Governor Nathan Deal is scheduled to honor 12 Georgians who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for their service in the Vietnam War on March 25.

Officials say Deal will also issue a proclamation declaring March 29 as Vietnam Veterans Day in Georgia.

Officials say several organizations including the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association, the West Atlanta/Douglas Choral Society and others are expected to be on hand for the event.
