Ga. Tech student identified, in critical condition

ATLANTA - Authorities have identified the Georgia Tech student burned by an incendiary device yesterday as graduate student Saamer Akshabi, according to Fox 5.

The television station reports that Akshabi suffered burns to over 90 percent of his body and is in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating the fire and explosion and Fox 5 reports that Atlanta Fire officials have found what they believe to be a "molotov cocktail" and other "plastic bottles filled with liquid."

A neighbor told Fox 5 he didn't feel that the explosion was an act of terrorism. "I don't think that because I did know him well enough to know he didn't seem like that type to me," neighbor Lester West told the television station. West had been a neighbor of Akshabi for two years.

Authorities on the State and Federal level are continuing their investigation into the explosion.

This story will updated as details emerge.
