Some voter confusion reported in Hall Co., turnout predicted at 60%

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee is optimistic about total turnout for the 2014 mid-term election, but she admits some voters have been confused about Tuesday's elections process.

Advance, or early, voting was popular in Hall County; early votes were cast in person at the Elections Office on Brown's Bridge Road. However, election day day votes must be cast at each voter's assigned precinct.

"Definitely, the need to go to their polling locations today," said Sosebee. "If they happen to just drive out here anyway, we will happily...direct them to what voting location they are supposed to go to."

A vote called AccessNorthGA.com just after 7 a.m., saying he and about 20 other people were in line at the Elections Office, misunderstanding that they were not allowed to vote at the office.

Sosebee said as of 10 a.m., there had been 7,823 voters cast ballots at polling sites across Hall County. That number did not include early voting numbers. She said there are 81,535 active voters in Hall County, and she predicts 60-percent of those voters will ultimately cast ballots.

Polls close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
