Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter said Monday that lawyers are asking unnecessary question and witnesses are giving long-winded answers to yes-or-no questions. <br />

In one exchange with a defense lawyer, Baxter said he needs to take control over the trial or it could last well into next year. <br />

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Baxter said he's trying to move the case forward as efficiently as possible while giving all the defendants a fair trial. <br />

In opening arguments Sept. 29, prosecutors said that 12 former Atlanta Public Schools educators and administrators cheated, lied and stole as part of a widespread conspiracy to inflate state test scores that affected thousands of students. <br />
