GAINESVILLE - Hall County District 2 Commissioner Billy Powell will be joining other county residents Saturday as they provide lunch to Habitat for Humanity volunteers working on a house in South Hall.

Powell and members of the Hidden Harbor Homeowners Association will serve lunch to approximately 20 volunteers building a house for Charmain Smith, a local veteran.

"I am honored to serve these volunteers as they construct a home for someone who has already served this nation-- and this community-- in the most heroic way possible," Powell said.

Smith, who is actively involved in the construction process, is receiving the house through Habitat's "Home for a Hero" program. (See earlier story.
