GAINESVILLE - Lanier Partners of North Georgia, Inc., is the winner of this year's Helping Hands Award from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County. The Youth of the Year Award went to Gabe Copeland.<br />

The Helping Hands Award is given each year to an individual or group that has been dedicated to supporting the clubs' mission. The Youth of the Year Award recognizes service to the clubs, the community, and family. <br />

They were presented Tuesday night at the 12th Annual Futures for Kids Gala at the Gainesville Civic Center.<br />

The featured speaker was Jim Morris, the man behind the Disney movie "The Rookie." Morris shared his life story, describing how he went from a high school baseball coach to a Major League pitcher.
