McCain says veterans should back Perdue in Georgia

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. John McCain is urging veterans to support Republican David Perdue in the race for Georgia's U.S. Senate.<br /> <br /> McCain spoke with Perdue supporters Wednesday at a VFW forum in Marietta, where he told them Georgia's Senate race is one of the most important in the country for Republicans trying to take a majority in the U.S. Senate.<br /> <br /> Perdue, Democrat Michelle Nunn and Libertarian Amanda Swafford of Flowery Branch meet in the Nov. 4 election.<br /> <br /> Perdue focused his comments exclusively on President Barack Obama and Sen. Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, on Wednesday.<br /> <br /> McCain and Perdue say the Obama administration hasn't led the country on domestic or national issues, including the response to the Ebola virus, the Islamic State fighters and problems within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
