DEMOREST - Four people were hurt, two seriously, in a single-vehicle wreck near Demorest Thursday afternoon.
The wreck happened on Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway near East Russ Stephens Road and involved a Mitsubishi Eclipse, said Trooper 1st Class Casey Coffee of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
Coffee said the car traveled off the roadway, struck an embankment and then overturned.
Two of the car's occupants - one of whom was ejected during the wreck - were airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, Coffee said. Two others were taken by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center.
As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, Coffee said additional information about the occupants' identities will be released later once the report has been approved.
