DA to seek death penalty for parents in Moss case

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) A prosecutor in Gwinnett County says he will seek the death penalty for the parents of a girl whose emaciated and burned body was found in a trash bin.

Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the facts of the case constitute torture of the girl and deserve the death penalty.

Porter has said the case that led to the death of 10-year-old Emani Moss is the worst he's seen in 30 years with the court system.

Moss' body was found in a trash bin at a Lawrenceville apartment complex Nov. 2. The girl's father, Eman Moss, and her stepmother, Tiffany Moss, face murder and child cruelty charges.

Gwinnett County police have said they believe the girl was starved to death.
