Flowery Branch City Clerk resigns

FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch City Clerk Marja Burney has resigned and the city council plans to appoint an interim clerk Thursday night.

Mayor Mike Miller said Tuesday night that Burney resigned last Thursday "so we have to have someone in that position until we can fill it, so, we are going to appoint one of our office clerks, Vickie Short, to the interim position."

Miller said Burney gave no reason for her resignation. She had been city clerk since June 2011.
