Boys basketball: Davenport helps East Hall take out West Hall

By staff
RABBITTOWN -- East Hall inched away over the second half to pull out a 69-58 over the West Hall boys on Saturday in Rabbittown.

Tied at 29-29 at the half, the Vikings (6-7, 2-2 Region 7-AAA) gained some breathing room in the third quarter, outscoring the Spartans 18-10 in the period.

Kyvon Davenport did his part to help East Hall gain that traction, putting up a game-high 23 points, to go along with 17 rebounds and eight blocks. Caleb Holtzclaw also starred for the Vikings, nailing five 3-pointers to score 15 points.

Hunter Atkinson paced West Hall, tying for a game-high with 23 points, while Deandre Peoples added 11.

The Spartans (7-5, 2-2) will look to bounce back at North Hall on Tuesday.

East Hall, meanwhile, will play host to Fannin County on Tuesday.
