Buford dominates Banks County, holds Leopards to minus-27 yards

BUFORD -- Buford scored five touchdowns on just six plays in the first quarter of Friday night's 63-0 defeat of Banks County in Buford.

The top-ranked Wolves (4-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) dominated every facet of play against the Leopards (0-5, 0-2), rolling up 477 yards of offense while holding the Leopards minus-27 yards for the game.

Buford was led by two touchdown runs from Joshua Thomas, while seven other players scored on the night, as the Wolves sprinted to a 35-0 lead that extended to a 49-0 advantage at the half.

Xavier Gantt paced Buford with 87 yards rushing, while Evyn Cooper added 76.

The Wolves held Banks County to just one first down -- that coming on a penalty.

Buford travels to face West Hall next week.

Banks County will travel to face Dawson County next week.
