Area students gather for See You at the Pole

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Students in the Gainesville-Hall County area joined with students across the state and the nation for the annual See You at the Pole event Wednesday morning.

SYATP is an annual event where students lead a time of prayer at the flag poles outside of their schools. The event typically is held the last Wednesday of September.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), while not the organizer of the national event, acts as a catalyst for local gatherings. For example, at Chestatee High School, FCA student leaders invited local musician Joey Nicholson to lead worship for the event.

Students led prayer for five specific areas, including praying for their nation, leaders, friends and family, students and teachers and their school.
