Brenau sees two athletes honored by SSAC

The Southern States Athletic Conference honored two Brenau University athletes this week.

Tori Mullinax was the SSAC Runner of the Week for her performance during the week of Sept. 8, while Brenau University volleyball standout Ellen Lemos as Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 8-14.

In her first career collegiate 5K race, Mullinax, a freshman from Gainesville, finished third overall at the North Georgia Invitational with a time of 20:23. Mullinax finished first for the Golden Tigers and led her team to a 2nd place finish.

Meanwhile, Lemos, a senior from Belo Horizonte, Brazil had 45 kills, 32 digs and 7 blocks in victories over Loyola University, Belhaven University and Martin Methodist College.

Lemos is instrumental in leading the Golden Tigers to their first 3-0 start in SSAC conference play in program history.
