Lilburn toddler killed during family argument

LILBURN - Gwinnett County police say a toddler was killed in Lilburn Tuesday night when he was caught in the crossfire of an argument between two adults.

Police say the shooting happened on Stafford Drive in an unincorporated part of Lilburn just after 10 p.m.

The boy, 23-month-old Deandre Vega, was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries.

A family member, 39 year old Luis Efrain Torres, is in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center. He has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
