Volleyball: Lady Vikings stay perfect

MONROE -- The East Hall girls volleyball team remained perfect on the season after sweeping a pair of matches Tuesday.

The Lady Vikings (11-0) beat Jackson County 25-19, 25-23 ad then whipped host Monroe Area 25-13, 25-16 in the second match.

Tarryn Long had six points on serve with four aces and added 19 kills and 10 digs. Kara Hix had 16 points on serve with to aces. She also had three kills, two assists and 25 digs for the Lady Vikings.

Ashleigh Burnett scored eight points on serve to go with four kills and nine digs. Cassida Shockley scored five points on serve with two aces, two kills, 24 assists, and two digs for East Hall.

Jessica Chmiel had 16 points scored on serve with three aces, Emily Roberts had five kills, four blocks and two digs, and Allison Segars had two aces, four kills, two blocks and one dig.

The Lady Vikings next travel to Tallulah Falls on Thursday.
