Clayton State student shot near campus

By The Associated Press
MORROW, Ga. (AP) Authorities are investigating the shooting of a Clayton State University student near the campus south of Atlanta.

Police say the student was shot in the parking lot of the Clayton Station Apartments around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities say the student and a co-worker were getting out of a car parked near a group of about 10 unfamiliar people. The pair was walking to their apartment when shots were fired, apparently by one of the people in the large group.

WSB-TV reports that the student was shot under the right arm and in the ankle. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.
