Softball: Buford routs West Hall to open 7-AAA play

BUFORD -- Class AAA No. 1 Buford opened its Region 7-AAA season Thursday with a 12-0 win over West Hall in four innings.

Buford (3-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA) belted out eight hits and junior Emily Crocker cruised through the night in the circle, facing the minimum batters (12) with five strikeouts. West Hall's only hit and baserunner came in the first inning.

Buford will resume play in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational tournament on Friday, traveling to North Gwinnett High School and playing North Gwinnett at 4:00 pm.

Senior Niki Cook was 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored. Junior Jordan Deep had three hits and two RBI for the Lady Wolves

Junior Morgan Walters blasted a two-run home run and junior Remington Hasty had one double, one RBI and scored a run.

Buford two runs in the second, two more in the third, and then put the game away with eight in the fourth inning.
