MT. AIRY - Habersham County officials are dealing with flooding in several locations, including Alto, Baldwin, Cornelia and Mt. Airy.
Baldwin Police Chief Jesse Varner said at 3:50 p.m. he and his officers are checking various parts of the city for flooding.
"Right now we've only got one lane passable in front of the post office on Willingham Avenue," Varner said. "Also, we've got the underpass closed on Airport Road."
While it is located outside his department's jurisdiction, Varner said Old Gainesville Highway near Apple Pie Ridge is beginning to flood as well.
Authorities also responded to a traffic accident at Camp Creek Road in Cornelia.
Habersham County E-9-1-1/Emergency Management Agency Director Lynn Smith said at 4:10 p.m. all or portions of the following roads are closed:
Alto area
* Old Gainesville Highway at Apple Pie Ridge Road
Baldwin
* Airport Road
* Industrial Boulevard
* Perry Manor at Willingham
* Willingham
Cornelia
* Clarkesville Street between MLK and the depot
* Moss Street
* South Main Street
Mt. Airy
* Georgia 197 at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy
* Wilson Road at the dip
