Habersham commissioners tap Barden as CFO

CORNELIA - Habersham County commissioners announced Thursday morning that they have offered the position of County Financial Director to Michael J. Barden.

A Habersham County native, Barden has extensive financial experience, according to Commission Chairman Chad Henderson.

"He spent a lot of time as controller of Habersham Bank and then later on with CB&T, left there and went to work for the FDIC," said Henderson.

Henderson said Barden went through an extensive interview process and came out as the clear choice for the position.

"We feel like he's got really, really strong administrative skills, a really strong financial background, he understands how to manage people," said Henderson.
