Rescuers find missing jet skier on Lake Hartwell

ANDERSON, S.C. - A 15-year-old boy who disappeared while on a jet ski in Lake Hartwell has been found safe.

Miriam Bratcher with the Anderson County Technical Rescue Team said the teen was spotted near a dock on the Georgia side of the lake around 10:30 a.m.

Bratcher says the boy's jet ski ran out of gas Sunday and he began to drift when a storm came up. The boy spent the night under a dock to try to stay out of the rain.

The boy's family called authorities around 9:30 p.m. Sunday when he failed to meet them at a boat ramp at Saddler's Creek State Park.

His name has not been released.
