HALL COUNTY - The Department of Natural Resources said a teenage girl was injured by a boat propeller during an outing on Lake Lanier Sunday afternoon.
According to DNR officials, the girl was trying to climb into the boat from the stern, when she fell and was caught by the boat propeller. They said she suffered a laceration, approximately 16-inches in length, to her left thigh.
The DNR said the boat was running, but it was in neutral at the time of the incident.
The girl was taken to East Bank Park by Hall County emergency responders. She was then transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m., according to the DNR.
