Tennis: Lady Elephants stay unbeaten, whip Union Grove

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville girls tennis team remained unbeaten after taking a 4-1 win over Union Grove Wednesday.

The Lady Red Elephants swept the doubles dropping just three games. At No. 1 doubles, Morgan Mercer and Lauren Carter beat Casey Basnard and Autumn Hoagland 6-1, 6-1 while Martha McKinnon and Katherine Anderson beat Katie Maddox and Marisa Masciantonio 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Gainesville's Brinkley Frankum beat Sydney Neese at No. 1 and Katherine Wright beat Sydney Fielding 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

At No. 2 singles Georgia Summer lost to Emily O'Neill 6-4, 6-3

The Lady Elephants next will play host to Loganville Thursday in a Region 8-AAAAA match.
