Gainesville man jailed in Athens home invasion

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Another suspect is in jail in connection with a December home invasion in Athens, and the arrest was made Monday in Hall County.

A spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Xavier Quansai Holland, 20, was picked up by a patrolman in the area of Floyd Road and Tulip Drive.

Holland is the second of four suspects jailed in connection with a December 17, 2012 break-in at Arbor Ridge Apartments in west Athens. Holland faces charges of burglary and armed robbery.

A report in the Tuesday edition of the Athens Banner Herald said four suspects kicked in the door of an apartment that night with the intent of robbing the occupants at gunpoint. Police said when one of the occupants attacked the intruders with a baseball bat, they all fled the scene.

One of the suspects, Dazmon D.G. Steeple, 20, of Homer, was found in the apartment complex the night of the incident and arrested.

Two other suspects remain at large.
