8-AA championship: Jefferson boys, Rabun County girls claim titles

GREENSBORO -- The Jefferson boys and Rabun County girls each notched region championships on Saturday in Greensboro.

The Dragons defeated Greene County 53-51 on the Tigers' home floor to claim the 8-AA title and No. 1 seed for next week's state playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats also relegated the Greene County girls to second place in 8-AA, winning 76-51 in the girls title game.

The Rabun County boys also finished as the No. 3 seed, while the Union County girls hammered the Jefferson girls 58-32 in the consolation game.
