ATLANTA (AP) Atlanta's airport is reporting an increase in passenger traffic during the Thanksgiving weekend, saying more than 1.8 million people passed through between Nov. 25 and Dec. 2.
That marks a 5.6 percent increase over the year before at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest.
Airport General Manager Louis Miller says the travel season went smoothly and noted the Atlanta airport saw an increase despite a decline in air travel nationally.
Airport officials say Monday was the busiest travel day with more than 282,000 passengers passing through.
