Barrow Co. releases name of Statham murder victim

By B.J. Williams News Director
STATHAM - Barrow County authorities said Thursday they are continuing to look for clues in the murder of 24-year-old Lance Monroe Cole, the man found dead in his Kirkland Circle home Tuesday morning.

Barrow County Sheriff's Office Lt. Matt Guthas said Cole had been shot to death. At this point, investigators are still trying to determine a motive, and Guthas said there are no suspects.

"Investigators have searched the scene, obtained evidence from the scene - forensic evidence and other evidence - and we are working in conjunction with crime lab officials at the GBI to get that analyzed," said Guthas.

A relative arriving home from work Tuesday around 8 a.m. discovered the body, according to Guthas.
