Cleveland man arrested after Saturday chase

CLEVELAND - A Cleveland man faces several charges after fleeing from White County deputies and leading them on an eight-mile chase Saturday afternoon.

White County Sheriff's Office Capt. Tim Chapman said the chase was initiated on Highway 115 west of Cleveland and ended on Highway 284 just inside Hall County.

According to Chapman, 30-year old Steve Anderson of Elza Road in Cleveland was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude, running a stoplight, improper passing, driving with a suspended license, and open container.
