GAINESVILLE -- The Buford softball team moved into the Region 7-AAA championship round courtesy an 8-0, five-inning defeat of East Hall on Tuesday at Lanier Point Park in Gainesville.
Banks County and Fannin County will face off at 4 p.m. Thursday for the right to take on the No. 1 ranked Lady Wolves in Thursday's 6 p.m. finale.
Buford (28-1) scored seven runs in the first inning en route to Tuesday's win, which was more than enough for Buford starter Bria Bush, who earned her second victory in as many days, pitching her 10th complete game and seventh shutout of the year for the Lady Wolves. Bush (11-1) allowed just one hit and struck out seven East Hall batters.
Sydney Stavro led the Lady Wolves at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run scored and two stolen bases. Meanwhile, Baylee Sexton had a hit and two RBI, and Niki Cook finished 2-for-3, with a triple, one run scored and two stolen bases.
