Jefferson football's magical 2012 season keeps on giving.

The Dragons recently learned that senior quarterback Bryant Shirreffs received All-American honors after helping lead Jefferson to its first state championship.

According to retiring Jefferson football coach T McFerrin, who announced he was stepping down shortly after the triumph, Shirreffs was named All-American by MaxPreps.

Shirreffs piled up 3,741 yards of offense for Jefferson, which finished the season 14-1, falling only in the season opener before finishing the campaign with a 31-14 defeat of Calhoun in the Class AA title game in the Georgia Dome.

Shirreffs completed 174 of 267 pass attempts on the season for 2,369 yards, notching 18 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions.

The dual threat also ran for 1,372 yards and 20 touchdowns.
