Volleyball: Johnson sweeps 8-AAAA matches

MONROE -- Johnson stayed withing one game of first place in Region 8-AAAA after winning a pair of region matches Tuesday in girls volleyball action.

The Lady Knights (19-10, 5-1 in region) rallied to beat Eastside 26-28, 25-18, 25-14 and then held off host Monroe Area 25-22, 25-21.

Lejavian Ratliff paced Johnson with 11 kills, nine digs, and four aces. Kari Sloan had 10 kills, Kelly chance had 10 assists, Savannah Turk added eight kills and five digs, Lindsey Anderson had seven kills, and Caitlin Parsons 4 aces for the Lady Knights.

Johnson next will travel to Lanier on Thursday for a tri-match with the Lady Longhorns and West Hall.
