NE Ga. Career Expo set for Sept. 21

ATLANTA - State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says the Georgia Department of Labor s (GDOL) Toccoa Career Center, along with several other organizations, will sponsor a career expo Friday, Sept. 21, in Toccoa.

It will be held from noon until 3:00 on the Currahee Campus of North Georgia Technical College. Workshops on filling out job applications, resume writing, and dressing for job interviews will begin at 11.

Other event sponsors include Northeast Georgia Employer Committee, North Georgia Technical College, Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, TruVista, The Toccoa Record, and WNEG Radio in Toccoa.

The expo will feature nearly 80 employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide education and other resources.

Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings, and are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.
