Volleyball: North Hall sweeps, Lady Knights split in tri-match

OAKWOOD -- North Hall swept a pair of matches and Johnson rallied from a set down to beat Duluth Thursday in girls volleyball action at the Johnson gym.

North Hall outlasted Duluth in a long two-set match winning 25-21 and 30-28 to get the win. The Lady Trojans then rallied past Johnson 22-25, 25-20, 25-10 to earn the sweep.

Kristina Gregory had 20 assists, nine aces, and eight kills to pace North Hall. Sydney Cleveland added 17 kills and six digs, Alesha Lee had eight kills, four digs, and two blocks, and Allie Staub had 10 kills and eight digs for the Lady Trojans.

Andi Fleming had a seven-point service run with 12 aces for North Hall in the two matches. Juliana Paschall had nine assists for the Lady Trojans.

For Johnson, the Lady Knights lost the first set to Duluth 25-18 but then stormed back to win the final two sets 25-13 and 25-20 to win the match. But, Johnson fell to North Hall in the second match in another three-set affair.

Kelly Chase had a solid night for Johnson with 10 aces and 24 assists in the two matches. LeJavian Ratliff had 13 kills, two blocks, and six digs, and Savannah Turk added 15 kills, 11 digs, and four aces for the Lady Knights.

Heather Luc had four aces and Christina Petit had four aces and three kills for Johnson.

The Lady Knights (5-2) next will travel to Gainesville next Thursday in a tri-match with the Lady Elephants and Cedar Shoals.
