Fatal wreck shuts down White Sulphur Rd.

GAINESVILLE - White Sulphur Road in Gainesville was closed due to a fatal accident Tuesday afternoon.

Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said the apparent head-on collision involving a passenger car and an SUV shut down the roadway between Ramsey Road and Navajo Circle.

He said one person was pronounced dead on the scene, while another was transported by ground ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Holbrook said the identities of the victims and details about the accident are being withheld at this time. He said the Gainesville Police Department is investigating.
