New private school planned in Cumming

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CUMMING - Plans are underway for a new private school in Cumming.

Organizers hope to have New Vision Academy ready for opening for the 2013/2014 school year.

"New Vision is dedicated to providing quality educational programs and classes to children and adults alike," according to Senior Administrator Heath R. McDowell. "We feel that good quality education is the keys to success in today's world..."

McDowell said everything is in place except for a building "which we hope to get soon. As long as we can get a building we will be opening on as scheduled. However, even if we don't get a building for the 2013/2014 school year we will still be starting a homeschool program."

According to the school's website, "New Vision's educational process and commitment, both in and out of the classroom, is directed to the development of Christian students to enable them to translate the different facets of their educational experience into Christian living. As a community Christian school, New Vision Academy believes in 'Kingdom Education,' a life long, Bible-based, Christ-centered process of leading a child to Christ, building a child up in Christ, and equipping a child to serve Christ. It is our desire to "assist parents" and be an extension of the home in the development of students spiritually, academically, physically and socially so that they will think from a biblical worldview as they launch into God's plan and purpose for their lives."

The school plans to offer classes from Preschool/Kindergarten through the 12th grade.
