Details released in double-fatality accident on I-985

BUFORD - Gwinnett County Police released the names of those involved in a fatal four-vehicle crash on Interstate 985 Friday afternoon.

Sixty-year-old John Keese and his wife, 62-year-old Donna Keese, both of Lawrenceville, were killed in the southbound crash under the Buford Drive overpass, according to officials with the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Authorities said 38-year-old Stephen Scott is charged with following too closely and two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide. They said speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors.

According to Gwinnett County Police, Scott's box truck rear-ended the Keese's car, causing the chain-reaction crash. Traffic was slowed due to merging traffic, according to police.
