Brother charged with sister's murder in Buford

BUFORD - Gwinnett County homicide detectives have identified the murder victim found at a home on Powers Avenue in Buford yesterday as 54-year-old Vickie Bowles.

The victim's brother, Dennis Roger Puckett, has been arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Police said both the victim and the suspect lived at the location where the homicide took place.

Initially, police went to the home for a welfare check around 4:00 p.m. and that's when they found Bowles, apparently dead from blunt force trauma. Investigators did not release a motive in the crime.
