Nicholson family of seven displaced by fire

NICHOLSON - A family of seven loses a home to fire Monday morning in Jackson County.

Steve Nichols, the Director of Jackson County EMS, said the fire broke out in the double wide mobile home on Tanner Lane in Nicholson around 5:00 a.m.

He said it appears the fire started underneath the mobile home in the living room area.

"The fire is under investigation at this time," said Nichols. "It doesn't appear suspicious, but we do have the State Fire Marshal's Office looking at it due to the amount of damage that was done to it."

Nichols said the two adults and five children escaped the burning home without injury. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
